Paxton Trail Updates

It's not often we get to pry open a politician's personal life and see what they are doing out of the limelight.

But, in Paxton's trial, we have gotten a glimpse of a man who appears to have compromised morals and a desire to live a decadent lifestyle, which is a really bad combination. Testimony on Wednesday from Paxton's nieve protege, Drew Wicker, centered on his conversations with the remodeling contractor about Nate Paul approving the remodeling work in Paxton’s home.

Paxton's lawyer displayed images of the kitchen and the now infamous upgraded “granite countertops,” only to reveal they had never been changed. Instead, Paxton's $1.35M home in Austin has cheap, tacky tile countertops (see image below).

Seems very odd to me that someone would remodel a home and leave 30-year-old countertops in place. Paxton’s lawyer also produced a backdated invoice for $121K, that was created the same day whistleblowers told Paxton they had turned him into the FBI. The invoice shows that Paxton paid for the remodel with his own money. Strangely, the one person who could clear all of this up, the general contractor, has declined to testify.

Paxton’s mistress was also scheduled to testify, but that was scuttled at the last minute behind closed doors.  Thursday's trial had one notable testimony from the Deputy AG, Austin Kinghorn, where he stated that he worked for Paxton's "law firm" and the attorney general was his "client", not the state of Texas. What a mess we have at the AG's office. I think it is clear that Paxton had shady illegal dealings with Paul, but will the Senate agree? We will likely know today as the trial wraps up.

Congresswomen Lauren Boebert was kicked out of Beetlejuice Musical

We love to loathe her, but you can’t help but laugh at just how ridiculous her behavior is becoming. Boebert was watching the Beetlejuice musical in Denver and apparently thought it was okay to vape, sing, and look at her phone. After several complaints, security removed her and her date. She became so incensed that she rudely proclaimed, “Do you know who I am?” Then proceeded to flip them off in the lobby as she was being escorted out. Keeping it classy Boebert, keeping it classy.

Mexico’s Congress Displays Mummified Alien Bodies In a bizarre effort to outdo our Congress

Mexico’s Congress displayed 1000-year-old alien corpses this week in its first-ever hearing on UFOs. Scientists have supposedly run DNA tests and determined the remains are not human. We are not alone. Queue the X-Files Music.

Texas is #1 Again... for Uninsured

Texas has the highest uninsured rate for health insurance in the country, again. 16.6% of us have no insurance and that number is going up rapidly this year. The Texas GOP refuses to expand Medicaid in the state, which would give more than one million Texans immediate access to healthcare and bring $5.4 billion in federal funds to the state. Additionally, Federal COVID restrictions prevented Texas from removing Medicaid users until this year. Since those restrictions have ended, Texas has removed more than 500K people from the Medicaid program. This is a key reason we need Democrats to control the Texas House, everyone should have access to healthcare.

Spotlight on House District 112, one of our target Districts

Texas House District 112, located in Northeast Dallas County,  is held by GOP Representative Angie Chin Button. In the 2020 election, statewide Democratic candidates Mike Collier and Rochelle Garza won the district by roughly 300 votes, while O'Rourke came within 1800 votes of beating Abbott. But, the  Democratic Texas House candidate lost by 6,600 votes, or 10%. Voter turnout in this district was 55%, 9% higher than the state’s average, but that number could still be improved. The demographics in this district show it is Whiter (+16%) and more Asian (+5%) than the state average. The district also has more college graduates (+16%) with higher incomes than the state average. In short, this is a suburban professional district.   To win in this district, voters need to be educated on who the Democratic candidate is and voter turnout must also be boosted.  All Hat No Cattle’s plan is to mail thousands of letters to voters and text them to make sure they understand how important it is to vote for every Democrat on the ballot next year. To do this, we need donations.

All Hat No Cattle’s mission

We believe Democrats have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to make real gains in the Texas House and Senate as Texas continues to trend Democratic. But we must focus on turnout in House and Senate Districts within the state. We must engage and inspire voters to go to the polls more than just every four years. Voters must learn to vote for every Democrat on the ballot and we have to give them a real reason to do it. Please consider donating to help us achieve this goal.
